Flyers from a Bygone Era

I was so excited about this show that I made two separate flyers for it.  This ended being the biggest show at the Hellbound House.

Hellbound Flyer 1

Yes, that says three dollars.  And, yes, that is Redon over-layed with actual typewriter type from an actual typewriter.  And, yes yes, this was made at Kinkos.

Hellbound Flyer 2

"Les Hiboux"

You mean to tell me that I can read old poems translated from the French on the Internet for free?!

Sharp Wolf

German and Swiss German: from the Germanic personal name Egilolf, composed of the elements agi(l) ‘edge’, ‘point’ (of a sword) + wolf ‘wolf’, cognate with Old English Ecgwulf. This was the name of several Lombard kings (ancestors of the Bavarian ducal line of the Agilolfinger), who introduced the name to Italy

"Jedem das Seine"

Saw this: "Jedem das Seine"

Found this:  (German pronunciation: [ˈjeːdəm das ˈzaɪ̯nə]) is a German proverb meaning "to each his own" or "to each what he deserves." It is a translation of the Latin phrase suum cuique.

Then: The just-world hypothesis or just-world fallacy is the cognitive bias (or assumption) that a person's actions always bring morally fair and fitting consequences to that person, so that all noble actions are eventually rewarded and all evil actions are eventually punished. In other words, the just-world hypothesis is the tendency to attribute consequences to—or expect consequences as the result of—a universal force that restores moral balance. The fallacy is that this implies (often unintentionally) the existence of cosmic justice, desert, stability, or order, and may also serve to rationalize people's misfortune on the grounds that they deserve it.

Left Handed Snake

I cracked up listening to Radiolab the other day.  The episode involved some discussion on lateral dominance and animals.  Dogs.  Cats.  Parrots, and I started laughing.  Started shouting more animals I wanted to hear about and it wasn't long until it was snake.  You could tests snakes to see which way the preferred to slither.  Maybe some flavors of snakes slither left and some flavors slither right.  "Everyone knows hooded cobras all slither right while your average work-a-day viper slithers left."

Reminds me of when Pee Wee Herman is watching the sunrise from a giant dinosaur with Simone.  She asks him if he has dreams.  He begins to describe a dream where a giant snake in a vest... yes, a snake in a vest.  Of course.  Sleeves would dangle.  No snake needs that.  What I am guessing is that the vest is really tight so it stays on.

Something to think about anyway.

"We gunna find these guys, get my money and shoot them in they faces like Marvin in Pulp Fiction – except we gunna do it on purpose."
